Y03's Kind Acts

My name is Keri, I am the teacher for class Y03. Class Y03 is a class from P.S. 176x@178x, a school for children with Autism in the Bronx, NY. Our class is made up of 7 boys ages 6-9. In light of the tragic events at Sandy Hook Elementary, in Newtown CT, Ann Curry proposed that everyone complete 26 random acts of kindness to prove that the good in the world far outweighs the bad. I decided that I wanted my students to take part in this project, not only to help them learn to empathize with others, but also to learn, that although they are young, they can have a positive impact on the world around them. We came up with 26 Acts and are coming close to completing them. Every letter that is written was composed by the class as a whole, and many of the ideas regarding snacks and treats came from the students as well. Here are our 26 Acts.
